18 months......100 pounds!

Today is my Year and a half anniversary of sobriety. Some days it feels like I just started and others feel like they are never going to end, but all of them are freeing! I am very happy, today, to know the people here. I have accomplished more positive goals in this short time that I had in a lifetime. 18 months ago i remember trying to do a push up and being unable to push my 300 pound body off the mat without shaking. I ran (walked) my first Warrior Dash yesterday. The fact that I call it my first guarantees that I will be doing this again! About halfway up the mountain I began talking to Jesus! And planning an escape route that I could take and no one would notice that I had given up! I didn’t spend too much time entertaining these thoughts! lol..... I almost cant believe who I am becoming. I am still full of fear, I am still overweight, I will always be an alcoholic, soooooo what changed? I have not had a drink in 9 months! I have been training at CNY MMA for almost as long! I lost 67 lbs! and even though I still have fears, they do not control me! I am a new woman.
I dont have to be ashamed of where I came from in order to appreciate the path i am on now. I dont have to regret the road I traveled that brought me to this…
